Innovative systems for management and treaceability increase for pistachio cultivation in Fthiotida perfecture
The InnovAgro InnovAgro project takes a holistic approach regarding the shell peanut cultivation, starting with the recordings of soil parameters for the development of sustainable fertilization practices and the management of the by-products production. The project aims to use modern technology and is expected to bring about radical changes in the cultivation habits of pistachio nut producers.
The development of digital decision-making tools for use at producer and cooperative level will contribute to:
The implementation of sustainable farming practices,
The digital control of inputs and outputs, monitoring of producers' compliance with their cooperative's quality systems,
The development of a monitoring/improvement plan for the quality status of the cultivated areas, in terms of organic matter increase, correct use of fertilizers and soil protection,
The use of the by-products of peanut processing (organic waste) by reusing them on the land after checking the suitability of the soil, and
The creation of a telemetry network for monitoring crops and providing advice, which will provide spatial, visualized and evaluated information for each producer (inputs/outputs, fertilisation time, soil quality, etc.).
